It took me a really long time to find a meal planning system that worked. I tried several paper and online options without much success. This weekly meal planner includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, with options on the side to keep meal planning flexible. This is an updated version of an old black and white copy. Enjoy!

Kids and food can make for a super stressful combination, especially when it entails a child refusing food you are giving them. Every child is unique and every family has to make their own choices. I am sharing how we feed our kiddos, why we believe food is important and how I believe it has shaped their food preferences.
We are only two months in, but 2019 has come in with a bang for our family. Getting back into a routine has been difficult, but somehow, some way a meal plan was made on Sunday and so far it has been followed.....for the most part.
I will be honest, I am not very good at meal planning. Maybe that is why I despise it. The week always goes ten times better when I at least have a guideline though. I have searched and attempted to use countless meal planning printables and apps. We cook ahead food at one time for leftovers and so far, nothing has worked except for something I drew out on plain paper one Sunday night.
Hopefully everyone had a safe and fun Fourth of July holiday. Being on a Tuesday, maybe some of you even had Monday off for an extended holiday weekend. We had traveled over the weekend, but was back by Sunday to get rested for the week. My husband was fortunate enough to take off Monday too. Both of us prepped our dishes we planned to take to the Fourth of July party - Famous Baked Beans and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dip. These were both wins. The fail, and it was a total fail, was dairy and egg free strawberry shortcake.
My husband and I love food and we really like to eat out. Eating out has always been our weakness when it comes to budgeting. This month we have been putting extra effort into staying on budget. We have been known to have a refrigerator full of food and still eat out. But this weekend has been a milestone, I would say, we bought groceries yesterday and have not eaten out this weekend!
