Kids and food can make for a super stressful combination, especially when it entails a child refusing food you are giving them. Every child is unique and every family has to make their own choices. I am sharing how we feed our kiddos, why we believe food is important and how I believe it has shaped their food preferences.

Food allergies is a topic that is always a little controversial, even in like-minded circles sometimes. Everyone has an opinion and their doctor (or doctors) has an opinion. There are those people that do not even believe food allergies exist and then there are those that may choose to eliminate a food from their diet because it's "trendy" or the "thing to do" right now. Both of these groups are extreme and not ones I would personally take advice from. Everyone's body is unique and responds to foods differently. It's a fairly long post today, documenting our allergy story.
Hopefully everyone had a safe and fun Fourth of July holiday. Being on a Tuesday, maybe some of you even had Monday off for an extended holiday weekend. We had traveled over the weekend, but was back by Sunday to get rested for the week. My husband was fortunate enough to take off Monday too. Both of us prepped our dishes we planned to take to the Fourth of July party - Famous Baked Beans and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dip. These were both wins. The fail, and it was a total fail, was dairy and egg free strawberry shortcake.
It's hard to believe that my baby is 5 1/2 months ALREADY!! It has gone by so fast that I can barely remember these past few months, it's just blurry. I am trying to slow things down and take more time for "the little things". I do not believe in holding them back from milestones and if they are ready, then they are ready.

Scripture/Quote of the Week:
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
